Gethin Pearson is a talented and creative producer, mixer and songwriter from Wales. With a background as a musician himself, multi-instrumentalist Gethin can turn his talents to everything from rock and metal to classic indie and electropop to hip hop, but throughout all facets of his work, his unique talent shines through. His enthusiastic and encouraging style has a special way of nurturing talent by enabling artists to find their own sound, pushing them out of their comfort zone to explore new influences and sounds whilst also remaining true to themselves and their art.
2017 has got off to a great start for Gethin with new albums he produced by HARK and Army Of Bones being released to critical acclaim. Gethin worked with Dan Austin on the third studio album from Mallory Knox 'Wired' which was released on 10th March 2017. The first single ‘Giving It Up’ received its premiere as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on Radio 1 and 'Better Off Without You' was on the B List there. Gethin is currently working with To Kill A King, producing tracks for their forthcoming third album. He's also been writing with Ronan Keating, as well as producing new bands including Radio X favourites JUDAS, The Morning and Joe McVeigh.
2016 was a breakthrough year for Gethin with forthcoming albums he produced & mixed including ‘Simplicity’ by Birmingham’s finest JAWS, which is featured on Huw Stephens’ Album Time on 31st October. Gethin also produced and co-wrote Radio 2 playlisted single ‘Rhythm’ from CC Smugglers. He has also been working with Glasgow’s Smash Williams, with the first song to emerge from the session ‘This One Will Go Down Hard’ being described by The Line Of Best Fit as a ‘glistening, euphoric world beater’. Other exciting new artists Gethin has produced in 2016 include Clay, Wild//Youth, Monico Blonde & The Hearts.
In 2015 Gethin produced and co-wrote the final album by The Enemy, ‘It’s Automatic’. Gethin helped the band to delve into fresh psychedelic and progressive sounds for the record and the album received 4* in Q Magazine.
Gethin also produced the 2015 debut album ‘Arnos Vale’ from Personal Best, which was hailed by Noisey as “the best band I’ve heard in [a long] time…ripping power-pop that will propel you heart-first into a good time. Between the college rock melodies and the cathartic lyrics, listening to the record is like performing a cleansing ritual that rids you of all negative vibes.”
Throughout 2015, Gethin worked with some of the most exciting up and coming bands including Haus, Radio On and Clay, getting great reviews and sitting comfortably on Radio 1 and XFM playlists across the board
